KUALA LUMPUR – To protect the welfare of the consumers, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) will not terminate the electricity supply throughout the Movement Control Order (MCO) period, said the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah.
He also said that all other electricity supply services such as new supply connection, repair works, TNB customer service and TNB Careline Facebook will function as usual.
Besides that, all Kedai Tenaga operations and the electricity metre reading by TNB will go on as usual throughout the emergency and MCO, by complying to all standard operating procedures (SOP) determined by the government.
“For payment transactions, I would like to advice the consumers to use online facilities which could be reached by the TNB’s website and myTNB mobile application.
“If there is any problems or further enquiries, the consumers may contact TNB through the channels I mentioned just now,” he said in a statement.
“Many users would obey the stay at home order, work from home and their children also attends online learning.
“Among the actions which could be practiced at home are switching off the electrical appliances such as computers after using them and not allowing the air-conditioner, fan and lights to be on in an empty room. The consumers may obtain information on efficient electricity usage from the Energy Commission or TNB’s website,” he added.
I recommend the consumers to fully utilise the SAVE 2.0 Programme to obtain the RM200 e-rebate for the purchase of energy efficient air-conditioner and refrigerator in an effort to save electricity bills at their homes. –MalaysiaGazette
