KUALA LUMPUR – The government is urged to seek appropriate solution before allowing students who will be sitting for their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination to return to school beginning 20 January.
The early measure is needed to avoid a new cluster among the students, said Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.
“There are 2,440 secondary schools in #Malaysia. If those taking #SPM 2020 & 2021 are allowed to go to school, would they become a new #Covid19 cluster?” said the Secretary-General of UMNO in his Facebook post.
The similar concern was also shared with the decision of the Ministry of Higher Education, which allows higher learning institutions to begin their studies on 1 March.
“If #IPT are allowed to operated beginning 1 March 2021, perhaps, there would be IPT Cluster. There are hundreds of IPTA and IPTS in #Malaysia,” he said.
According to Ahmad, the government needs to seek appropriate method for studies to go on without endangering the students.
Therefore, he said that the Covid-19 vaccination is needed immediately, not by the end of February or March. –MalaysiaGazette
