KUALA LUMPUR – The three ministers who work around the clock in ensuring that the people and the country is safe from the Covid-19 pandemic should be highlighted as heroes.
Political analyst, Wan Khairul Ihsan Wan Muhammad said that the three ministers are namely, Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob; Minister of Health, Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba; and the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar.
Despite having positions in the party, these three ministers were not involved in their party’s internal political turmoil.
On the contrary, they are consistently focussed in saving the lives of the people from Covid-19.
“In my observation throughout the internal political turmoil in UMNO, they have never made any political statements on the party. They were only consistent in focussing their efforts to save the lives of the people.
“These are the real unsung heroes. They were never mentioned by the people nor by their party. They spent their time in resolving the dire needs for vaccine, so that the people’s health can be guaranteed,” he said in a statement to MalaysiaGazette today.
Wan Khairul Ihsan said, the three ministers are the Members of Parliament from UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) who gained the trust of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
He said, they were given important positions in heading the efforts to fight Covid-19 and post-pandemic, including to ensure that the people get their vaccines fast.
“They are also the MPs who had raised the status of UMNO and BN as quality ministers compared to the ministers during the Pakatan Harapan (PH) reign.
“However, their friends in their own party are cynical against these heroes as they were focussed on their job as ministers and did not comment about politics and the polemic of the party.
“Some of their friends in the party see that these heroes are comfortable with their positions in the government but the fact is, they work hard around the clock to ensure that the vaccine can be brought into Malaysia and benefit the people as fast as they can,” he said.
In the midst of time constraint due to the Movement Control Order (MCO), the rays of the for the vaccine is getting clearer.
According to him, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was sealed yesterday between the government of Malaysia and Sinovac from China through PharmaNiaga Berhad, the subsidiary of Boustead Berhad.
He said, Sinovac will be delivering its first phase of vaccine to Malaysia through PharmaNiaga Berhad one month after the date of the MoU.
“When the vaccine is given to the people, new cases would reduce and the country can move towards the success of fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Congratulations to these three national heroes for prioritising the lives and health of the people over dirty politics and personal power.
“We are proud and will continue to support these heroes who did all they could,” he said. –MalaysiaGazette
