PUTRAJAYA – The Ministry of Health (MOH) recorded an increment of 325 new Covid-19 cases compared to yesterday, with a total of 3,631 new cases for the past 24 hours as of 12.00 pm today.

Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that it shifted the cumulative Covid-19 cases in Malaysia to 165,371 cases.

“Meanwhile, the number of active Covid-19 cases is 39,464 cases.

“From the amount of new cases, seven cases were imported from overseas, meanwhile, there are 3,624 local infections.

“For the local infections, 2754 cases involved Malaysia citizens, meanwhile, 870 cases are non-citizens,” he said during a news conference today.

According to Dr Noor Hisham, Selangor recorded the highest number of new Covid-19 positive cases in the country, with 1,199 cases.

“From that amount, 884 cases are from the active clusters and close contacts screening in the field.

“This is followed by Sabah with 526 cases and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur with 521 cases,” he said.

Meanwhile, the recovery rate today is rather high, with 2,944 cases of recoveries.

“The cumulative cases of patients who fully recovered from Covid-19 is 125,288 cases (75.8 percent from the total cases),” he said.

Besides that, 238 Covid-19 positive cases are being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 96 cases required respiratory support. Meanwhile, 14 Covid-19 deaths are recorded today.

“This shifts the cumulative Covid-19 deaths in Malaysia to 619 cases (0.37 percent from the total cases),” he added. –MalaysiaGazette
