KUALA LUMPUR – A Covid-19 patient left a note before attempting suicide by jumping off from the 11th floor of a flat at Bandar Baru Sentul recently.
The 57-year-old Malaysian man sustained serious injuries and is now in a coma at the hospital.
The Sentul District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Beh Eng Lai verified the incident and said that the unfortunate event happened last Saturday.
According to him, the IPD Sentul Control Centre received a call at around 4.30 pm through MERS 999, indicating that the public found a man laying on the ground at the ground floor of the flat with serious injuries.
“Medical officers were rushed to the scene and they confirmed that the victim sustained serious injuries on his head, lungs, stomach and fractured his hands and legs.
“The victims is currently being treated at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital due to critical injuries and is in a coma,” he told MalaysiaGazette today.
Eng Lai said, the case is classified under Section 309 of the Penal Code for suicide attempt.
The police is in the process of identifying the cause of his suicide and his family members have been notified about the incident.
“The police found a note left on the body of the victim and the note said that he is positive of Covid-19 before he attempted suicide by jumping off the building,” he said.
Eng Lai also urged the public not to hurt themselves and the environment which can cause harm to their lives. –MalaysiaGazette
