KUALA LUMPUR – The government agreed to extend the operation hours of all permitted business sectors and activities until 10.00 pm beginning tomorrow.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the measure is taken to coordinate all business operation hours involving all permitted sectors.
At the same time, he said that it would enable monitoring and enforcement by the Compliance Operation Task Force led by the police.
“After the risk assessment, we have agreed to extend the business hours to all permitted sectors until 10.00 pm.
“Among them include convenience stores, grocers, pharmacies, essential items shops, pet food stores, laundry mart and optometrists which we announced earlier.
“Therefore, we will standardise the business hours for all the sectors that we have approved and allowed,” he said in a news conference today.
On 22 January, the operation hours for all food premises and food delivery services in states under the Movement Control Order (MCO) have been extended until 10.00 pm.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said that the government also agreed to allow forestry, logging and its chain of service to operate beginning tomorrow.
“The special sitting agreed and allowed the sector to operate as usual and the approval will begin tomorrow,” he said. –MalaysiaGazette
