Drug turf war, cause of gang fight in Cheras

KUALA LUMPUR – Police have arrested 14 men through Ops Cantas as at noon today in connection with an armed gang fight in Taman Juara Jaya, Batu 9 Cheras on Sunday.

The Selangor Criminal Investigation Department (CCID Selangor), Datuk Fadzil Ahmat said that the motive of the fight that caused serious injuries on two men was due to turf war to control territories for drug sales between the 08 Sg Besi Indah Gang in Serdang and 36 Bukit Belimbing Gang in Kajang.

“The motive of the incident was over the control of drug sales territory between the 08 Sg Besi Indah Gang in Serdang and 36 Bukit Belimbing Gang in Kajang and it is believed to be controlled by an Indian local man known as Sara 08 Sungai Besi Indah and his right-hand man known as Rajie 5000.

“Meanwhile the other party from 36 Bukit Belimbing Gang, Kajang is believed to be led by a local Chindian male known as Tan,” he said in a statement.

The gang fight was reported to take place at 6.37 pm yesterday after the Kajang District Police Headquarters (IPD) received a distress call about the fight at the housing area.

The case is investigated under Section 325 and Section 148 of the Penal Code.

According to Fadzil, several individuals have been identified by the Selangor CCID to assist in the investigation.
