KUALA LUMPUR – A nurse from the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UITM) Medical Centre in Sungai Buloh has passed away early morning yesterday due to Covid-19 complications.
Artini Dzolkarnain, who worked at the Medical Rehabilitation Department took her last breath at 5.30 am yesterday.
She, who was in the 30th week of her pregnancy went for a surgery to deliver her fifth baby on 21 January.
The baby is now in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of the hospital.
The UiTM Medical Faculty shared the news about the demise of Artini in a Facebook post.
A post by the Artini’s cousin revealed that she was admitted into the Sungai Buloh Hospital on 16 January and her health condition deteriorated and a surgery had to be performed on her to deliver the pre-mature baby.
She had to depend on the respiratory support and had to be transferred to the UiTM Hospital two days ago as her condition worsened.
Netizens also took the chance to extend their condolences as Artini was one of the frontliners sacrificed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. –MalaysiaGazette
