KUALA LUMPUR – The Ministry of Health (MOH) verified that a four months old baby has passed away due to Covid-19. The baby boy is also the youngest Covid-19 fatality in Malaysia.

According to the Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, the baby passed away at the Tawau Hospital.

“Case 167,032 was a four months old baby boy, who passed away at the Tawau Hospital following cardiac arrest,” said Noor Hisham.

The baby was among the 17 Covid-19 deaths recorded today.

Meanwhile, the oldest Covid-19 death was also recorded today. He was 82-years-old and he passed away at the Melaka Hospital and he had medical history of hypertension, stroke and heart disease.

The baby is the youngest death of the virus, after a one-year-old baby passed away last year.

Selangor recorded the highest number of Covid-19 deaths in the country today with four cases, followed by three cases each in Sabah and Sarawak, two cases in Johor and Pahang and one case each in Kelantan, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan.

15 deaths involved citizens, meanwhile two deaths were non-citizens. –MalaysiaGazette
