KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is scheduled to deliver a special address at 3.30 pm today.
The special address will also be broadcasted live through several television channels and also at www.malaysiagazette.com and MalaysiaGazette’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/MalaysiaGazette/.
Muhyiddin is having an official visit to Indonesia at the invitation of the republic’s President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Thursday and Friday.
According to the Ambassador Extraordinary of Malaysia to Indonesia, Datuk Zainal Abidin Bakar, it is also Muhyiddin’s first visit to Indonesia since his appointment as the 8th Prime Minister on 1 March 2020.
“Several matters pertaining the benefit of the two countries require discussions at the highest level, face to face, heart to heat,” he said in a news conference yesterday.
Muhyiddin will be given an official welcoming ceremony at the Istana Merdeka in Jakarta, and then the two leaders will hold a four-eye meeting before conducting a joint press conference,
“Several matters involving the interests of both countries such as the discrimination of palm oil, haze problem, potential of joint-investment and trade, implementation of the Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL), and cooperation in combating Covid-19,” he said.
Zainal Abidin said that the visit will be conducted under strict health protocols including screening before departure and upon arrival and the quarantine of delegation upon returning to Malaysia tomorrow evening. –MalaysiaGazette
