Supreme Council Member of UMNO, Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said that the party was not comfortable with the decision of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin by placing Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali as the most senior minister in his Cabinet.
“I am ready to take up the challenge. I want my salary to be cut, perhaps five or 10 percent,” said Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin when asked if the government would consider reducing the salaries of the cabinet ministers as the current administration is bigger than the previous Cabinet under the Pakatan Harapan.
After 10 days into his duty as the Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin finally announce the Cabinet line-up which would be the backbone of his administration.
Four Senior Ministers have been appointed into the cabinet to assist in the Prime Minister in the affairs of economy, security, infrastructure development and education and social. They are namely: Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali as the Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Minister of Defence Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Finance Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Minister of Works
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is in charge of all federal ministries and departments until the appointment of new Cabinet ministers.
