KUALA LUMPUR – An Indonesian man panicked after he was detected by the security guards while breaking into a premise climbed up the rooftop to avoid arrest.

The Indonesian suspect was initially thought to be suffering from mental illness and was attempting to commit suicide at the Darul Kifayah Complex of Taman Koperasi Fasa II today.

He was detected to have climbed the three-storey building and ran to the rooftop, refusing to come down.

The firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Department were rushed to the scene to rescue the man before he was handed over to the police for further action.

Meanwhile, the Sentul District Police Chief, Commissioner Beh Eng Lai said that the man is not a mental health patient who was trying to kill himself.

“He is undocumented and was trespassing that building.

“After knowing that his action was detected by the security guards on duty at the location, that individual ran and climbed up the roof of the three-storey building,” he said.

The suspect is investigated under Section 448 of the Penal Code. -MalaysiaGazette
