KUALA LUMPUR – The police arrested an Instafamous known as Cik Lala last Friday over suspicion of her involvement with organising a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration and booking the dance performance featuring semi-naked transwomen.

The Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said, the viral incident involving a group of semi-naked transwomen dancers and fireworks display took place at CentralWalk I-City, Shah Alam.

He said, the police received a report about the incident on 28 May after getting a viral WhatsApp on the activity of the dance performance and fireworks at Unit B-UG-12 Upper Grand Floor.

“The complainant alleged that the uncomfortable event had tarnished the image of I-City as a tourist attraction in Selangor.

“Preliminary police report found that the incident happened on 27 May at around 8.00 pm until 11.30 pm at the Hall of Unit B-Ug-12 Upper Grand Floor CentralWalk I-City, where a group of semi-naked transwomen were performing a dance with loud music. There were also fireworks display at a public area near the residential area,” he said in a statement today.

He added, Cik Lala, 27, rented the unit at RM4,000 and invited approximately 50 close friends to the event.

According to Mohd Iqbal, the dance performance and fireworks were organised by the organiser herself.

“Acting on the information and police report, a team of police arrested the organiser of the event (Cik Lala) on Sunday.

“The suspect is under remand until 31 May to assist in police investigation,” he said.

Mohd Iqbal said, the case is investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code, Section 6 of the Explosives Act and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.
