TAIPING – The ownership of a reserve land belonging to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) in Kamunting has been transferred to a church in Melaka without PDRM’s knowledge.
A MalaysiaGazette’s source said that the PDRM land ownership transfer was exposed after the police received a letter from a legal firm representing the church on 14 April.
According to the source, based on the letter, the church had demanded the ownership of the 0.55 hectare land in Kamunting.
“A check found that the Federal reserve land was the site of barracks and the house of a police station chief with the rank of Sergeant.
“Following that, a report was lodged on 20 April by the police to investigate the status of the land which was previously owned by PDRM,” he told MalaysiaGazette today.
According to the source, the police is in the process of obtaining the original document of the land.
“Besides that, we are also tracking the witnesses to record their statement,” elaborating further, the source said that the ownership of another land lot owned by the police at Kampung Padang Gajah in the Larut District was also transferred without the law enforcer’s knowledge.
“The police building land was transferred to the name of three local individuals. However, the verification report on the land status by the Perak Land and Mineral Office found that there was no release application on the land release,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) Director, Datuk Zainuddin Yaacob verified the report when contacted by MalaysiaGazette.
“Investigation is ongoing and we found that the similar incident happened to several PDRM reserve land in Perak,” said Zainuddin. –MalaysiaGazette
