SHAH ALAM – Although Selangor has recorded high number of Covid-19 positive cases, nevertheless, its infection rate is below the national infection rate.
Menteri Besar of Selangor, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said, continuous efforts by the State Health Department (JKNS) and the state government has placed the infection rate in Selangor below the national level.
“It is true that Selangor has recorded high number of cases, however, our infection rate is always below the national level with the continuous efforts from JKNS and the state government in controlling, including, increasing screening,” he twitted today.
Yesterday, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba reported that the Ministry of Health is considering to implement tighter SOP or full scale Movement Control Order (MCO) in Selangor if the state fails to contain the Covid-19 outbreak.
Selangor has recorded 10,393 cases of Covid-19 last week, earning its place as the state with the highest number of positive cases in Malaysia. Yesterday, the state also recorded 1,650 cases, the highest in the country. –MalaysiaGazette
