KUALA LUMPUR – The Ministry of Health (MOH) has detected 12 Covid-19 clusters related to the Aidilfitri celebration.
Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, the clusters involved seven states; four in Sabah, two each in Kelantan and Labuan, one each in Pahang, Penang, Sarawak and Selangor.
He said, 2,541 Covid-19 screening have been conducted so far and 470 individuals have been tested positive from those clusters.
“Today is the 14th day of Syawal, two weeks after the Muslims nationwide celebrated Aidilfitri.
“As of 13 Syawal or 25 May 2021, 12 community clusters (Hari Raya sub-clusters) have been detected involving seven states.
“It has infected 470 cases and 2,541 screenings have been conducted.
“One case passed away involving the Jalan Tahir Manan Cluster in Selangor,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Besides that, Dr Noor Hisham said that two cases from the Aidilfitri Covid-19 clusters were admitted into the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) from the Simpang Sahari Cluster in Labuan.
“The number of cases is expected to increase and it may involve more states,” he said.
Based on the information on his post, the Aidilfitri celebration community clusters detected as of yesterday are Jalan Tahir Manan Cluster in Selangor; Kampung Pangkal Payung and Kepulauan Tumpat Clusters in Kelantan; Padang Lalang Dua Cluster in Penang and Jalan Dara Cluster in Pahang.
Meanwhile in East Malaysia, the Aidilfitri clusters detected are the Simpang Sahari and Patau-Patau Clusters in Labuan; Melikai, Deluxe, Abaka and Muhibbah Dua Clusters in Sabah; and Taman Sourabaya Indah Cluster in Sarawak.
According to the graft shared by Dr Noor Hisham, Sabah contributed 33.33 percent to the cases followed by Kelantan and Labuan that recorded 16.67 percent respectively.
This is followed by Selangor, Sarawak, Penang and Pahang with 8.33 percent. –MalaysiaGazette
