KUALA LUMPUR – The contract doctors nationwide continued to protest towards the government’s decision of refusing to absorb them into permanent appointments.
Strikes were held in all states where contract doctors were seen to walk out from their hospitals as a sign of protest.
In Kuala Lumpur Hospital, over 20 contract doctors walked out towards the carpark located on the sixth floor of the hospital before having a news conference there.
The group spokesperson requested the government to absorb them into permanent appointments and grant them the facility to further their studies.
Meanwhile in Selangor, a group of contract doctors also staged similar demonstration, carrying placards reading #hartaldoktorkontrak and #lawantetaplawan at the Selayang Hospital.
At the Tengku Ampuang Rahimah Hospital in Klang, a group of 20 junior doctors joined the Contract Doctors Hartal outside the Mother & Child Treatment Complex.
The same was also seen at the Sungai Buloh Hospital.
In Johor, contract doctors from the Sultanah Aminah Hospital gathered in protest and the similar situation also took place at the Sultan Ismail Hospital.
The same situation was also spotted in hospitals around Melaka, Pahang, Penang and several other states where contract doctors walked out from their jobs to join the protest.
Most of them were dressed in all black carrying placards with #hartaldoktorkontrak #lawantetaplawan wordings on them. – MalaysiaGazette
