SEBERANG JAYA – The body of Royal Malaysia Airforce (RMAF) pilot who was killed in the air crash at the Butterworth Air Base has been released after autopsy.
The post-mortem on Captain Mohamad Affendi Bustamy was conducted by the Seberang Jaya Hospital Forensics Unit at about 9.00 am this morning.
MalaysiaGazette was told that the body of the victim will be laid to rest in his hometown at Bandar Muadzam Shah, Pahang, meanwhile, the funeral prayer will be held at the Muadzam Shah Mosque.
MalaysiaGazette reported last night that a pilot was killed and another was injured after the RMAF Hawk 108 fighter jet crashed at the Butterworth air base at around 10.07pm.
In a statement, the RMAF Headquarters verified the identity of the victim as Captain Mohamad Affendi Bustamy, meanwhile, the injured pilot was Major Mohd Fareez Omar.
Markas Tentera Udara dalam satu kenyataan mengesahkan identiti mangsa maut sebagai Kapten Mohamad Affendi Bustamy manakala juruterbang yang cedera, Mejar Mohd Fareez Omar.
Major Mohd Fareez is currently in a stable condition and receiving treatment at the Seberang Jaya Hospital. The remains of Captain Mohamad Affendi was brought to the same hospital for autopsy. -MalaysiaGazette
