ALOR GAJAH – A mechanic who just got married yesterday was rammed by a car at Kilometre 196.6 southbound of the PLUS Expressway last night.
The Alor Gajah District Police Chief, Superintendent Arshad Abu said, the victim, Anwarie Azim Rozi, 23 who just completed his marriage solemnisation yesterday died at the scene at 8.50 pm.
According to him, the victim who was riding a Yamaha Y15ZR was on his way home from his workplace at Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.
“The accident was believed to have taken place when he fell off his bike and went into the second lane of the highway while heading from north to south before a Proton Persona coming from the same direction failed to avoid him and rammed into him.
“The crash caused the victim to be thrown off and he died at the location due to several injuries on his body,” he said in a statement today.
He added, the 47 years-old Proton Perdana driver was unhurt.
Arshad said, early inspection found that the crash victim with the address Batu 9 Jalan Besar Tambak Paya, Melaka did not have a motorcycle license.
“The body of the victim was sent to the Alor Gajah Forensics Department for post-mortem,” he said.
The case is investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. – MalaysiaGazette
