KUALA LUMPUR – A man tried to jump off from the 18th floor of an apartment at Section U2, Shah Alam early this morning after his girlfriend did not answer his call.

The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Director, Norazam Khamis said that his team received a distress call on the attempted suicide at 3.35 am.

A team of firefighters from the Kota Anggerik Fire and Rescue Station was rushed to the location.

“Upon arrival, the 27-years-old victim was on the rooftop of the 18-storeys apartment and was believed to be trying to kill himself.

“The rescuers took four hours to persuade the man before he agreed to come down from the roof,” he said in a statement today.

Norazam said, the victim tried to do the same stunt in Penang last year after his divorce. -MalaysiaGazette
