SHAH ALAM – The President of PKR, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim kept his mouth shut when asked about Rafizi Ramli’s intention of returning to the political arena.
On the contrary, he requested for all political issues to be postponed for two days to pave way and in respect of the ceremony to remember the religious icon, the late Prof Datuk Dr Siddiq Fadzil.
“I am not interested to discuss about other matters (politics) besides this institution (Siddiq Fadzil). I don’t want this to be overshadowed.
“This is only for Siddiq Fadzil. I postpone the rest to tomorrow or the day after tomorrow,” he said when met at Universiti Selangor (Unisel) today.
Rafizi retired from the political scene right after he was discharged and acquitted by the High Court for his 30 months sentence over the Banking and Financial Institutions Act (BAFIA) on 15 November 2019.
The release was made after Rafizi won his plea against the sentence on conviction delivered by the Sessions Court, which found him guilty of disclosing four banking accounts related to the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) and its Chairman.
After his release, he announced that he was not interested to return to the politics or carry important positions.
However, some PKR members have been urging for the return of Rafizi and requested for him to contest as the Deputy President in the coming PKR election in April.
In a Tweet, Razifi said that he has not decided to return to the political arena. -MalaysiaGazette
