KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia recorded 36 cases of Covid-19 death yesterday, including nine brought-in-dead (BID).

The addition shifted the pandemic death toll to 35,228 cases, said the Ministry of Health (MOH).

Selangor recorded nine deaths, followed by Perak and Sarawak with five cases each.

Meanwhile, Johor and Penang recorded four Covid-19 deaths respectively; Terengganu and Putrajaya reported two case each; Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Sabah and Kuala Lumpur recorded one death respectively.

The country also recorded 11,994 new daily Covid-19 cases as of last midnight, including 25 imported cases. At the same time, there were 157,571 active cases in the country.

From that amount, 3,174 cases or 2.0% were undergoing treatment at the hospital, including 197 at the intensive care unit (ICU). 108 cases required respiratory support.

The cumulative Covid-19 cases in the country has reached 4,256,476 cases. – MalaysiaGazette
