KUALA LUMPUR – The government will be having discussions with industry players to ensure that the issues surrounding the price of flight ticket and flight schedule to Sabah can be tackled.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the efforts will ensure that Keluarga Malaysia no longer need to worry when they want to return to their hometown during the festive seasons.

“The government is always sensitive towards the complaints of Keluarga Malaysia, including the issues surrounding the unreasonable increment of flight ticket prices and the delay of flight schedule during the festive season,” he said in his keynote address in conjunction with the Keluarga Malaysia Aspiration Tour at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), Kota Kinabalu.

The Keluarga Malaysia Aspiration Tour in Sabah is one of the government’s efforts to fulfil the aspiration of the people who demands protection in the aspect of wellbeing, peace and welfare.

In his speech, the Prime Minister also gave his guarantee that the Trilateral Cooperation Agreement (TCA) between Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines will be revised to strengthen the defence and security affairs in the waters of Sabah.

“The government is also aware of the importance of cooperation between the neighbouring countries in controlling national borders and this will continue to be enhanced,” he said.

In conjunction with his visit to Sabah, Ismail also announced several good news to the residents around Pagalungan, Nabawan today.

According to him, the residents in that area no longer need to brace through close to 100 kilometres (KM) of journey to Keningau merely to get the special pass to cross border like the Pas Menyeberangi Sempadan or Pas Lintas Batas.

They may now deal with all Immigration offices in the state for this purpose, including to renew their Pas Lawatan Jangka Panjang (Long-Term Visit Pass) and Pas Lawatan Kerja Sementara (PLKS – Temporary Work Visit Pass).

According to him, the measure is taken to ensure that there is no wrong door policy. -MalaysiaGazette
