Are our school failing?
From a sociological perspective, aggressive or violent behaviour among students is multifactorial. Factors include the bully’s own personal issues, such as a need for power, lack of empathy, anger issues, or low self-esteem.
School violence is a mirror of ourselves
For some students, especially those without emotional support or coping mechanisms, violence becomes an expression of power in an environment where they otherwise feel powerless. The problem is not only behavioural; it is also emotional and structural. When young people are denied safe avenues to express distress, anger is redirected toward those most vulnerable around them.
