GEORGE TOWN – Chief Minister of Penang, Chow Kon Yeow said that the state may implement a tougher Movement Control Order (MCO) soon.
He said, the state government would respect the decision that made by the National Security Council (MKN) to ensure that the Covid-19 is contained.
“We also urge everyone to obey MKN’s decision in the meeting that will be chaired by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin this evening.
“We urge everyone to accept the decision if a stricter MCO is introduced,” he said during a news conference at his office in the Tun Abdul Razak Complex (KOMTAR) today.
Elaborating further, Kon Yeow emphasized that the Penang government has submitted the state risk assessment data to MKN so that a decision could be made in the meeting this evening.
“I cannot reveal the confidential information but it involves the clusters and number of cases in this state,” he said. –MalaysiaGazette
