KUALA LUMPUR – New records of Covid-19 in Malaysia. 6,075 new Covid-19 cases were reported today and Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 2,251 cases.
The high number of cases in Selangor is believed to be contributed by the large scale screening at all State Assembly Areas (DUN) by the Selangor State Government.
Selangor has kick-started its Covid-19 Pandemic Mitigation Phase by identifying active cases, following an uptrend of high Covid-19 cases in the state.
The programme is implemented in six districts namely, Hulu Langat, Gombak, Petaling, Klang, Sepang and Kuala Langat from 8 May until 4 June.
The activity has shifted the number of daily Covid-19 infections in the country to 6,075 cases – the highest record in Malaysia since the virus hit Malaysia last year.
Johor came second in the leaderboard with 699 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (660), Kedah (445) and Kelantan (441).
Meanwhile, Sarawak recorded 323 cases, Perak (220), Terengganu (203), Negeri Sembilan (189), Penang (183), Sabah (160), Pahang (150), Melaka (122), Labuan (14), Putrajaya (9) and Perlis (6). – MalaysiaGazette
