KUALA LUMPUR – The total lockdown or Full Movement Control Order (FMCO) nationwide will extended for 14 more days.
According to Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the MCO will be extended until 28 June.
“The Ministry of Health (MOH) has presented and suggested for the extension of MCO 3.0 for two more weeks during the special National Security Council (MKN) meeting chaired by the Prime Minister.
“The decision was made after taking into factor the number of daily cases are still high with more than 5,000 cases per day and the average daily new cases as of yesterday is 6,871,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said that the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of all manufacturing, businesses and industries remain the same as announced earlier.
He said, with the extension of FMCO, he hoped that there is no more confusion with the implementation and enforcement of SOP.
“I do not want the people to be affected with the misinterpretation of SOP in the field by the enforcers,” he added.
The total lockdown has been implemented since 1 June following the escalation of Covid-19 positive cases of up to 9,020 cases per day on 29 May. –MalaysiaGazette
