KUALA LUMPUR – Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob wanted the police to investigate and take actions on Datuk Lokman Noor Adam who alleged that Ismail is trying to convince 28 other UMNO MPs to join Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
Therefore, his political secretary, Datuk Syed Mohd Fazmi Sayid Mohammad lodged a police report at the Danng Wangi District Police Headquarters against Lokman today.
Speaking to the journalists, Syed Mohd Fazmi said that after reviewing the content of the video, he found that Lokman had clearly slandered Ismail Sabri, who is also the Minister of Defence and Vice-President of UMNO.
“I was told by YB Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri that he has never made any statements as entailed by Lokman in the video,” he said.
Lokman, who is also the former UMNO Supreme Council Member is no longer in the party after he was sacked.
He added, Lokman made the accusations against Ismail, stating that he is trying to convince 28 UMNO MPs to be candidates for Bersatu if they are not chosen as candidates for UMNO during the 15th General Election (GE15).
“He (Lokman) mentioned several slanderous statements such as, ‘for your information, it is even sadder that this MCO minister is trying to convince us that if we are not chosen as candidates for the coming general election, we can be the candidates for Bersatu anytime because we know that the party is lack of calibre people,” he said.
According to him, Lokman had thrown various accusations against the MP of Bera.
Due to the excessive slanders, he had to lodge a police report immediate and request the authorities to investigate and sue Lokman.
“The baseless accusations have affected the reputation, image and status of Ismail Sabri as the Vice-President of UMNO and senior minister.
“We found that as of this moment, the video is still in Lokman Adam’s FB and it has not been deleted.
“We have also attached the link of the slanderous video to the investigation officer so that the case can be investigated justly and transparently,” he said. –MalaysiaGazette
