KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia recorded 16,840 new Covid-19 cases today, a drop of over 300 cases compared to 17,170 cases yesterday. With the addition, the cumulative cases in the country has shifted to 1,095,486 cases.
Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, despite the slight drop, Selangor, however, shower a great improvement with a reduction of over 1,000 cases as of 12.00 pm today.
“As of 30 July 2021, the number of Covid-19 cases is 16,840 cases. Although Selangor is still the state with the highest number of daily cases, however, its positive cases has reduced by 1,071 cases. The number of daily cases in that state is 6,092 cases.
“Nevertheless, the number of new Covid-19 cases in Kuala Lumpur is still high with over 2,000 case since 27 July. 2,114 cases have been recorded today.
“This is followed by Kedah with 1,281 cases, Johor (1,104), Negeri Sembilan (1,079), Sabah (1,066), Perak (810), Penang (689), Kelantan (656), Melaka (581), Pahang (540), Sarawak (450) and Terengganu (258).
“However, only three states maintained the record of below 100 cases namely, Putrajaya (100), Perlis (13) and Labuan (7),” he said in his social media post. –MalaysiaGazette
