ISKANDAR PUTERI – The Sultan of Johor has given a stern warning that he would not hesitate to dissolve the Johor State Government if there is an attempt to topple the state government.

Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar said, he would not entertain the political game of politicians who wish to continue to wrangle and disrupt the Johor state and government.

“If there I an attempt to topple my current government, thus, I will not hesitate to dissolve the Johor State Assembly.

“I think that there is no need for people’s representatives if they only care about their own positions and not the people,” His Majesty said while officiating the 4th Sitting of the 14th Johor State Assembly.

His Majesty said, the state assembly hall is a venue to make decisions for the benefit of the people and the state.

Therefore, the state assembly members should not tarnish the hall with their bad attitude.

“This is a noble hall, not a monkey cage. Remember my advice, Speaker. Do your job properly,” His Majesty said.

Sultan Ibrahim further said that this is no time for squabbles but everyone must unite and cooperate.

“Do not ask other people what they have done to help the people. Look into the mirror,” His Majesty said.

The Sultan also said that the state assembly members need not debate or bring irrelevant motions into the sitting.

“Do not be selfish. The people are suffering out there. Some are in hunger. Some lost their jobs. Some are fighting for their lives due to Covid-19.

“Therefore, I advise all members of the hall to use this sitting to discuss and plan your actions to help the people and redevelop Johor,” His Majesty said. -MalaysiaGazette
