KUALA LUMPUR – UMNO Youth Chief, Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki is urged to reveal the Prime Minister candidate that he supports.
The Bersatu Armada Youth Information Chief Mohd Ashraf Mustaqim Badrul Munir said that Asyraf’s action of seemingly supporting UMNO leaders with court cases or ‘court cluster” has violated the Constitution of party and Article 43 (2)(a) of the Federal Constitution.
According to him, the Federal Constitution stated that Yang di-Pertuan Agong would appoint a Prime Minister, whom, in His Majesty’s discretion commands the majority confidence of the Members of Parliament (MPs).
“A huge answered question besides contradicting to the case stated by Asyraf Wajdi who referred to the case of Datuk Seri Ir Mohammad NizarJamaluddin v Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir (Attorney General, intervener) [2010] 2 MLJ 285.
“i) Who has the majory exceeding Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to become the Prime Minister?
“ii) Who is Asyraf Wajdi ‘rooting’ to become the Prime Minister? Anwar Ibrahim? Don’t hide, the Malays want to know,” he said in a statement, quoting the news conference by Asyraf yesterday who questioned the legitimacy of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the Prime Minister.
Mohd Asyhraf also alleged that the Youth Chief of UMNO has betrayed the order of Malay Rulers for choosing separation and threatened the efforts of Perikatan Nasional (PN) as a government to administer the country.
He said, the people are sick of political crisis at this time, especially when the country is still fighting with the pandemic.
“Is the objective of this group merely to topple the government without any sense of responsibility? Are they willing to allow the country to stay in the turmoil of a chaotic episode to choose the next Prime Minister?
“How long would this chaotic episode take place without filling the void of executive source?
“The people are getting sick and tormented by such action, especially those led by the court cluster!” he added. –MalaysiaGazette
