KUALA LUMPUR – 76 Covid-19 deaths were reported yesterday, the lowest number recorded since 9 July, with 77 cases.
With the increment, 26,757 Covid-19 patients have succumbed to the outbreak in the country.
According to https://covidnow.moh.gov.my/, 15 cases were Brought In Dead (BID), thus, shifting the BID tally to 5,382 cases.
Yesterday, Perak recorded the highest number of Covid-19 deaths with 13 cases, followed by Sarawak (11) and Kelantan (10).
Johor and Sabah recorded nine cases each. Meanwhile, five cases were recorded in Penang while Pahang and Terengganu recorded four cases each.
Kuala Lumpur and Kedah recorded three deaths each, meanwhile, two cases were recorded in Selangor.
Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Perlis recorded one Covid-19 death respectively.
There are currently 142, 860 active Covid-19 cases in the country as of yesterday, compared to 150,317 cases the day before that.
From that amount, 116,748 (81.7%) are under home quarantine, 16,862 or 11.8% are at the Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC), 8,383 (5.9%) are hospitalised, 406 (0.3%) are admitted into the intensive care unit (ICU) without respiratory support, meanwhile, 461 (0.3%) are in the ICU and ventilated.
7,915 or 98% of the new cases did not show any symptoms (Category 1) or merely showed mild symptoms (Category 2).
Meanwhile, 160 cases or 2% are under Category 3 (patients with lungs inflammation), Category 4 (lungs inflammation requiring oxygen support) and Category 5 (critical requiring respiratory support).
