PUTRAJAYA – All agencies under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDAC) are reminded to facilitate business financing.

Its Minister, Tan Sri Noh Omar emphasized that the funds allocated to all agencies under MEDAC, including relevant banks are government funds meant to assist affected entrepreneurs.

“If anyone else (violates the order) out there, Bank Rakyat, SME Bank under my ministry, you need to understand. This is the government’s money. Not the bank’s money.

“We put the money in the banks, the banks help to implement. The government announced RM2billion. This is the government’s money to assist the entrepreneurs. Do not liken it to the bank’s money.

“I won’t disturb the bank’s money. They belong to the depositors. This is the government’s money. Facilitate. Do not red tape,” he said during a news conference today.

Meanwhile, Noh also said that a bank in Negeri Sembilan is still imposing certain terms and conditions to entrepreneurs who wish to get business financing.

“I must emphasize here, follow the instruction. Perhaps there are some officers, I received a complaint about Bank Rakyat in Negeri Sembilan. Its officer dared not do it as there is no official orders.

“During the previous Cabinet meeting, I have given the instruction to all agencies that have received funds from the government to help these entrepreneurs. Put aside CCRIS, CTOS,” he said.

Following that order, Noh revealed that one of the agencies under MEDAC that has implemented the leniency is Tekun Nasional.

“I have received the verification, like Tekun, in its website, it has deleted (the condition). No need for CTOS (clearance).

“I have also informed the CEO of Bank Rakyat to remove it. SME Bank too,” he added. -MalaysiaGazette
