AYER KEROH – Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali, who won the Melaka State Election and elected as the 13th Chief Minister of Melaka began his official duty at the Melaka State Building at around 8.35 am this morning.
Sulaiman, 55, was welcomed by the Secretary of the State, Datuk Kamel Mohamad and the staff from the Chief Minister’s Office today.
He was also accompanied by the Melaka Finance Officer, Datuk Zaidi Johari and the Mufti of Melaka, Datuk Wira Abd Halim Tawil.
Sulaiman, who is also the State Assemblyman of Lendu recited a prayer in conjunction with his first day of work before starting his duty.
He was then given a short briefing by Kamel about the Chief Minister’s Office.
Sulaiman was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Melaka before the Governor of Melaka at about 1.00 am on Sunday, about two hours after the Barisan Nasional (BN) was announced to have won the Melaka polls on Saturday night.
He took his oath before Governor Tun Mohd Ali Rustam at the Dewan Seri Utama. – MalaysiaGazette
