KUALA LUMPUR – The defence counsel to the founder of Rumah Bonda, Siti Bainun Ahd Razali alleged that the fifth witness and her father have been ‘paid’ by the #justiceforbella group.
Nur Aminahtul Mardiah Md Nor told the Kuala Lumpur Sessions court that several people witnessed the #justiceforbella group giving money to Yasmin Nahar Mahmood, 19 and her father outside the Jalan Duta Court Complex last Friday.
“Yasmin also gave false testimony because Yasmin and her father, as witnessed by several individuals on Friday outside this court, the money from the justice for Bella team was given to Yasmin’s father. Agree?” Nur Aminahtul Mardiah questioned her before Judge Izralizam Sanusi today.
However, the prosecution witness denied the accusation thrown by Nur Aminahtul Mardiah.
The #justiceforbella movement comprised of several individuals who are fighting for the fate and justice for Bella, who was found wounded due to abuse in a condo allegedly owned by Siti Bainun.
The group wanted just punishment on Siti Bainun, whom they alleged was responsible for the abuse.
The media also reported that the #justiceforbella group had an audience with the Crown Prince of Johor yesterday, who is also concerned about the fate of the girl with Down Syndrome.
Siti Bainun, 30, pleaded not guilty to two counts of child neglect and abuse of the girl with disability, causing Bella to sustain physical and emotional wounds.
She was charged with committing the offences at a condominium in Wangsa Maju between February and June 2021.
The charges were framed under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 which carries the maximum punishment of 20 years in prison or RM50,000 in fine or both upon conviction. -MalaysiaGazette
