PUTRAJAYA – 61 out of 528 Rohingya ethnic detainees who staged a riot at the Relau Immigration Depot before breaking out of the detention centre are still at large as of 27 April.
Home Minister, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said that some of the them had surrendered.
“From the 528 who escaped, only 61 are still at large and their position has not been ascertained,” he said today.
On 20 April, 528 Rohingya immigration detainees staged a riot before escaping the detention centre. Six of them died in an accident at Kilometre 168 of the North South Expressway (PLUS) while they were trying to cross the road. -MalaysiaGazette
