PUTRAJAYA – The appeal proceeding over the misappropriation of RM42 million belonging to SRC International Sdn Bhd (SRC International) involving former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak has entered its 7th day today.

Today, the prosecutors would start to present their argument that is expected to take place for two days, after Najib’s defence team led by Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah has rounded its appeal argument yesterday.

On 28 July last year, the High Court Judge, Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali sentenced Najib to 12 years in prison and fined him RM210 million after finding the former Prime Minister guilty for seven counts of criminal breach of trust, money-laundering and power abuse.

Among Shafee’s argument included the attitude of High Court Judge, Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali, whom he questioned, has the urge to convict Najib in all charges.

The proceeding took place before a panel of three judges led by Datuk Abdul Karim Abdul Jalil, along with Datuk Has Zanah Mehat and Datuk Vazeer Alam Mydin Meera. -MalaysiaGazette
