KUALA LUMPUR – The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) issued compounds to nine joggers over the violation of standard operating procedures (SOP) for jogging in public park yesterday.

The Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Baharudin Mat Taib said, five compounds were issued at Section 7’s Taman Tasik park, meanwhile, four were issued at the Section 14 Park in Shah Alam.

“Individual recreational activity such as jogging is only allowed in their neighbourhood within the 10 kilometre radius from their house address.

“Exceeding the limit for that purpose is not allowed under the SOP of MKN (National Security Council) for the period between 1 until 14 June,” he said.

Action has been taken according to Section 109 of the Local Government Act 1976 over the recreational offence at public area during the total lockdown. –MalaysiaGazette
