KUALA LUMPUR – The Covid-19 infection reaches above 6,000 cases for two days consecutively with 6,276 new cases reported today, although the figure had a slight decrement from 6,437 cases yesterday.

Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, the new cases have shifted the current cumulative Covid-19 cases to 751,979 cases.

According to him, Selangor remained as the state with the highest number of cases recording 2,836 cases.

This is followed by Negeri Sembilan with 644 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 625 cases.

“Johor (299), Sabah (242), Sarawak (376) and Kelantan (159).

“Penang (131),Perak (137), Kedah (226), Melaka (223), Pahang (210), Terengganu 20, Labuan 132 cases, Putrajaya 11 and Perlis five new cases,” he said,

Meanwhile, out of the 6,276 new cases today, 16 were imported cases.

Noor Hisham added, there were 4,929 new recoveries today.

Meanwhile, 62 Covid-19 deaths were recorded by the Ministry of Health (MOH) while the number of cases in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is still high, with 905 cases. 452 of those cases required respiratory support. –MalaysiaGazette
