KUALA LUMPUR – Covid-19 vaccination should be made mandatory to all Malaysians, the Kinabatangan Member of Parliament (MP), Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin suggested during the Special Parliament Sitting today.

“Make vaccine mandatory. We can’t have some people wanting it and some people not wanting it. It is dangerous.

“The community is safe when we are vaccinated. In the United States, Russia, they go house to house (to vaccinate people) but we find it tough here. We should go house to house in villages to vaccinate people, then, we can be safe,” said the Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah.

According to Bung Moktar, Covid-19 outbreak has destroyed the economy and some people are affected to the point that they would kill themselves.

He also suggested for the government to provide single-dose vaccine to facilitate vaccination in the rural areas of Sabah.

If we use double-dose vaccine, the healthcare workers need to revisit the rural areas and there are risk of the residents not attending their vaccination session.

He also agreed to the opinion of several opposition MPs on the change of vaccination centres that are far from residential areas.

Thus, he wants the vaccination registration to be done by the state government to avoid such incidences.

“The state government can use their own websites. Perhaps we can do this. Don’t be too rigid and disallow everything,” he said. –MalaysiaGazette
