KUALA LUMPUR – The Secretary-General of UMNO, Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said that the Barisan Nasional (BN) will be announcing its 28 candidates for the Melaka State Election (PRN) on 20 November.
He said, a fully virtual ceremony will be made and broadcasted live through Facebook.
“The announcement on #BN candidates list will be made live on FB page, #UMNO Online this Saturday, 6 November 2021 at 10.00 am.
“Thank you for your support,” he said in his Facebook post today.
The announcement would be made from Menara Dato’ Onn, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) by the Chairman of BN, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
BN, through Ahmad Zahid, said that the party would be placing candidates in all 28 Melaka state assembly seats.
BN is also expected to introduce new candidates from UMNO, MCA and MIC in the Melaka election, besides defending several old candidates.
The Election Commission (EC) has set the polling date for Melaka State Election on 20 November, meanwhile, candidate nomination date was set on 8 November with the early polling day on 16 November.
The election had to be held after the dissolution of the Melaka state assembly on 4 October following four of its state assemblymen withdrawing their support to the leadership of Chief Minister, Datuk Sulaiman Md Ali.
There are 28 state assembly seats in Melaka with 495,196 registered voters. -MalaysiaGazette
