KUALA LUMPUR – The Ministry of Health (MOH) recorded 22,491 new Covid-19 cases yesterday and the cumulative cases in the country shifted to 4,054,926 cases.

Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said, at the same time, there were 26,234 recoveries yesterday,

From the amount of new daily cases, 382 were imported involving 364 citizens and 18 non-citizens.

For the 22,109 local infections, 21,243 cases were citizens while 866 were non-citizens.

“332 cases required treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). 141 were confirmed Covid-19 cases, 191 were suspected or under investigation for Covid-19.

“189 required respiratory support, 84 were confirmed Covid-19, 105 were suspected or under investigation for Covid-19,” he said in a media statement today.

He also provided a breakdown of the 22,491 new daily cases reported yesterday. 10,601 of the cases were under Category 1, Category 2 (11,725 cases), Category 3 (71 cases), Category 4 (44 cases) and Category 5 (50 cases).

According to him, from the 165 cases under Category 3, 4 and 5 reported yesterday, 43 were unvaccinated or have not completed their vaccination, meanwhile, 71 cases have received two doses of vaccine but have not received their booster dose. -MalaysiaGazette
