KUALA LUMPUR – 73 Covid-19 deaths were reported yesterday in Malaysia. From that amount, 23 cases were brought-in-dead (BID).

With the new addition, the pandemic death toll in the country had increased to 34,535 cases as of last midnight.

Perak recorded the highest number of deaths with 19 cases, followed by Johor and Selangor (11 cases each), Kedah (9) and Penang (8).

Meanwhile 3 cases were recorded in Kelantan, Melaka, Sabah and Terengganu respectively while Negeri Sembilan, Perlis and Sarawak recorded one Covid-19 death each.

At the same time, 21,483 new Covid-19 cases were recorded yesterday. 21,089 of the cases were local infections and the remaining were imported cases.

There are currently 252,671 active cases in the country, 6,617 of the Covid-19 patients were under treatment in the hospital.

From that amount 339 were being treated at the intensive care unit (ICU) with 209 requiring respiratory support.

The number of recoveries had increased to 3,745,229 cases.

As of yesterday, the cumulative Covid-19 cases in the Malaysia was 4,032,435 cases. – MalaysiaGazette
