PETALING JAYA – Former nasyid singer and composer, Muhammad Yasin Sulaiman pleaded the Magistrate Court to allow him bail following his bad mental health problem.

Yasin, 46, told the proceeding at the Petaling Jaya Court that his health is affected and his bipolar condition may attack again.

“I was given my medical supplies (during remand order) but I need additional medication. I am worried that I will crack for the third time. I am afraid to be crazy again,” he said after the prosecution and defence gave their arguments at the Magistrate Court today.

Earlier, Yasin pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court for cultivating 17 cannabis plants at his house in Kota Damansara on 24 March.

Besides that, no plea was recorded at the Magistrate Court for the charge of trafficking 214 grammes of cannabis.

Yasin arrived at the court at 10.00 am under police escort.

When met by reporters, Yasin also urged the Member of Parliament (MP) of Muar, Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman to fight for the rights to use cannabis for medical purposes.

“Send my regards to YB Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman, ask him to expedite the rights to use cannabis for medical purposes at the Parliament,” he added. -MalaysiaGazette
