KUALA LUMPUR – PAS welcomes the decision of UMNO, to maintain Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as the Prime Minister if the party wins two third of the 15th General Election (GE15).
According to the Secretary-General of PAS, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan PAS fully supports the leadership of Ismail Sabri as the ninth Prime Minister who took over from Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) in August last year.
“PAS hopes that the unity agenda steered by him could be continued as it has proven to be successful in creating stability, good political climate and harmony in the country.
“This approach would continue to be support by all on the grounds of bi-partisan for the benefit of the country,” he said.
Last night, the Supreme Council of UMNO unanimously named Ismail Sabri as the candidate of Prime Minister in facing GE15.
The meeting chaired by the President of UMNO, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi wanted the ninth Prime Minister of Malaysia to continue leading the country after GE15 if Barisan Nasional (BN) wins the election.
According to Takiyuddin, PAS is confident that the political MoU between the government and opposition will still apply until the dissolution of the 14th Parliament to help the national recovery process of the country, including the health, economy, social and lifestyle of the people. -MalaysiaGazette
