KUALA LUMPUR – The police arrested three men suspected for running amok at a restaurant in Brickfields after it refused to take their order following the end of operation hours at 10.00 pm due to the Movement Control Order (MCO).

The Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Commissioner Datuk Saiful Azly Kamaruddin said that due to the dissatisfaction, the suspects aged between 27 and 35 started to throw chairs at the restaurant.

“It was more than 10.00 pm and the restaurant could not serve food as it should close its operation according to the MCO SOP,” he said after attending the Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent Covid-19 Immunisation Launch at the Jinjang Health Clinic today.

According to Saiful Azly, the police acted on the report lodged by the owner of the eatery, tracked down the suspects and arrested them early this morning.

He added, all suspects were from the capital city of they are in the process of being remanded for further action.

The case is investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with weapons, he said.

Saiful Azly said, the police is hunting the remaining of the suspects who ran amok at the restaurant. –MalaysiaGazette
