KUALA LUMPUR – Close to 60 percent or 93 out of the 159 districts nationwide have been classified as red zone due to the increment of daily Covid-19 cases.

According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), the data involved cases recorded for the past 14 days from 21 April until 4 May 2021.

MOH said, over 65 percent or 61 of the red zone districts are located in the Peninsular of Malaysia.

Information shared by the MOH through its Official Facebook page also showed that all districts in Penang, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka and Putrajaya have been classified as the red zone.

Only 12 districts remained in the green zone during the same period, with five in the Peninsular of Malaysia and seven in Sabah.

The number of active cases recorded nationwide within the 14 days period also showed an increment of over 53 percent, from 25,804 case on 21 April to 39,490 cases yesterday. –MalaysiaGazette
