KUALA LUMPUR – The AstraZeneca trial vaccination session on several individuals did not show any symptom of severe headache.

The Coordinating Minister of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK), Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar said, as of now, the recipients of the AstraZeneca vaccine only reported common fever.

“During the trial session done earlier, we found that the worst symptom was fever,” he said during a news conference at the Putra World Trade Centre today.

Earlier, Khairy made an observation round at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL)’s Vaccination Centre (PPV) which is one of the four PPV centres for the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Yesterday, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba advised all recipients of the AstraZeneca vaccine to monitor their health status.

Among the adverse reactions listed are severe headache that does not subside or with common painkillers or becomes worse while laying down or bending over.

The unusual headache may be experienced with blurred vision, nausea and vomiting, difficulty in speech, fatigue, weakness or epilepsy, small spots on the skin, bruises or bleeding, difficulty in breathing, chest pain, swollen legs or continuous stomach-ache.

Therefore, he advised the public to monitor their health condition and get immediate treatment if they suffer any of the symptoms listed within four days and up to four weeks of their first AstraZeneca shot. –MalaysiaGazette
