KUALA LUMPUR – The Deputy Permanent Chairman of UMNO, Datuk Seri Rizuan Abdul Hamid who was admitted into the hospital on 3 May due to Covid-19 has passed away last night.

The President of UMNO, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi shared about the sad news about his passing in his social media post.

“With heavy heart and sadness, I received the news that my good friend, Dato Seri Hj Rizuan Abd Hamid, the Kepong UMNO Division Chief cum the Deputy Permanent Chairman of UMNO Malaysia has returned to his Creator just now.

“Let us pray together that his soul will be placed among the righteous. Al-fatihah,” he wrote in a post at about 12.00 am midnight.

Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak also expressed his sorrows on the news of the death of Allahyarham Rizuan.

“Condolences to the family of Tan Sri Madinah Mohamad and the family of Allahyarham. May his soul receives blessings from Allah and is placed among the pious. Al-Fatihah,” he said.

Najib also requested everyone to join pray for the health of all Covid-19 patients in the country and for their speedy recovery. –MalaysiaGazette
