KUALA LUMPUR – There is no more space for beds in Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) but to leave patients on portable beds outside, said a netizen on the current situation at the hospital that is full of patients.

“The current situation in HTAR. The patients need to wait on tar road. Although they have portable beds, it is still hot and uncomfortable. I get information that the patients stay, eat and drink there, unmonitored by staff. Too many patients are in the hospital… the water they drink is contributed.

“Some patients who require oxygen could not even get up to get their own water,” said a Facebook user, Puan Fariza Abdullah.

Several portable beds were placed outside the Emergency and Trauma Department at HTAR today and they were wrapped in blue plastic. Meanwhile, security officers were monitoring the area.

According to a report by MalaysiaKini, the individuals who were waiting for a portable bed outside the department are Covid-19 positive patients.

They were temporary placed there, waiting for their turn to be brought to the low-risk Covid-19 quarantine and treatment centre at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) and the incident happened since yesterday.

HTAR is one of the 12 hospitals in Selangor that handles Covid-19 cases and conduct Covid-19 screening. –MalaysiaGazette
